Ottawa County is located
in the northwest portion of Ohio on Lake Erie. Interstate Highways 80 and 90,
and State Routes 2, 105, 163, and 579 cross the county east and west, and
State Routes 19, 51, 53, 269, and 590 run north and south. The Toussaint and
Portage Rivers flow into Lake Erie at Ottawa County. The Lake Erie Ports of
Marblehead and Port Clinton provide access to Lake Erie Shipping. Included in
the County's land area are the Lake Erie Islands of Catawba, North Bass,
Middle Bass, South Bass, Rattlesnake, Green, Sugar, Gibraltar, Ballast,
Starve, Mouse, Johnson’s, and horseshoe. |
