Deputy Zach Bowling

Deputy of the Year 2008

Deputy Zach Bowling was honored as Deputy of the Year on May 14, 2008. Each year the Kiwanis Club of Port Clinton acknowledges the “Deputy of the Year” with a luncheon and an award.  The selection process is by the staff members of the Sheriff’s Office voting for their nominee for this special recognition.

Deputy Zach Bowling, a lifelong resident of Ottawa County, started his career with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office on January 02, 2003.  His first duties were those of a Correctional deputy.  While serving in that capacity, he obtained his certification as a Corrections deputy.  He also obtained his law enforcement certification with the State of Ohio.

On March 01, 2006, Deputy Bowling was reassigned to the Uniform Patrol Division where he continues to serve.  He is also a member of the Hostage Negotiating Team which supports the Special Response Team.

The Administration and personnel of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office are proud to recognize Deputy Bowling for his professional service and his selection as Deputy of the Year.

As part of his recognition Deputy Bowling received a trophy from the Kiwanis and a gold watch from the Buckeye State Sheriffs Association. His name has been added to a plaque that is on display in the Sheriffs Office lobby.
