Ottawa County Sheriffs Office Underwater Response Team Trains Under The Ice

    On Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18, members of the Underwater Response Team, along with divers from the Sandusky Fire Department, conducted training for diving under the ice. Saturdays session was held at a pond in Danbury Township, Sundays training was held at the Genoa Quarry.

    Also participating was Jim Blue, anchor for Toledo's NBC-24 News. In May, 2005, Jim broadcast live from 30 feet underwater as members of Toledo's Dive Rescue team demonstrated how to recover a victim from a sunken automobile. Video taken at this training will be broadcast during a future newscast.
