SERGEANT GARY GREGG ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Sergeant Gary Gregg, a 25-year veteran of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, will be retiring March 31, 2006.

He notified the senior administrative staff of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office by letter on January 25th.

Gregg has been an outstanding, dedicated deputy for the sheriff's office, according to the sheriff's office. During that time he has served in the Uniform Patrol Division, most recently as sergeant overseeing the second shift of the road patrol.

"Sgt. Gregg will certainly be missed by his comrades, and we wish him well in his retirement. He brought professionalism, dedication and a commitment to the victims of crime in Ottawa County," Sheriff Robert Bratton said. "He always went the extra mile to work with individuals, and no matter how small the complaint might seem, he always conducted thorough investigations of criminal matters."

The administration and personnel will recognize Gregg in the near future for his years of service.

There will be an internal search first for a patrol deputy to replace Gregg, the sheriff said. If there are no qualified candidates, the search will be opened to the general public.
