Ottawa County Sheriffs Office Receives Free Radar
On January 26, 2006, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office received notice from the Ohio Department of Public Safety that it will receive one free radar unit.
Captain Steve Levorchick headed up projects known as “Click It or Ticket” and “You Drink and Drive – You Lose” for the Department of Public Safety. He notified the deputies that we would like to participate in this program.
Statistically the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office was reviewed, and it was determined that it qualified for the new free radar unit to be added to the Uniform Patrol Division. This unit will be utilized with the existing radar units. It is valued between $4,000 and $6,000.
Sheriff Bratton commended Captain Levorchick and the Road deputies who participated in this program in order to make this free radar unit a reality. This demonstrates the commitment of the Command staff and Road deputies in enforcing the laws within Ottawa County.
