Breaking & Entering, GSE Jewelers, Knoll Crest Plaza

On Wednesday, September 28, 2005, shortly after 5:00Am, the Ottawa County Sheriffs Office received a alarm at GSE Jewelers located in the Knoll Crest Plaza near Wal-Mart. Ottawa County Sheriffs Deputies, and officers from the Catawba Island Police and Danbury Township Police Departments were dispatched. Officers arrived within minutes and found that a large rock had been thrown through a front window.

Inside the store deputies found the glass had been broken out of several display cases and a large amount of jewelry had been taken. Some of that jewelry consisted of bracelet charms in designs of the lighthouses, Perry's Monument, the Lonz Winery, shapes of the Lake Erie Islands and other designs of local and national landmarks.

Detectives viewed tapes from the video security system and saw that a total of five suspects entered the store through the front window. All were dressed in dark clothing and were wearing hoods or masks to hide their identity. Still photographs of those suspects are shown below.
