Recent Drug Arrests

At a recent Grand Jury sixteen (16) people were secretly indicted on fifty one (51) counts for various Drug Trafficking Offenses.
On Friday, April 7, 2006, Ottawa County Drug Task Force Officers were assisted by the Port Clinton Police Department, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office and Fremont Police in the service of the arrest warrants. On this date nine (9) people were arrested on the Indictments / Warrants. Task Force Officers are actively pursuing the remaining subjects who have warrants for their arrest.
These arrests are the result of a two year investigation spearheaded by the Ottawa County Drug Task Force. During this two year investigation the Ottawa County Drug Task Force was assisted by the Danbury Township Police Department, Port Clinton Police Department, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCI & I). This investigation concentrated on individuals trafficking in various controlled substances in Ottawa County. The controlled substances that were seized as a result of these investigations include Marijuana, Crack Cocaine, Cocaine and Ecstasy. The Grand Jury Indictments include specifications for the Forfeiture of four (4) vehicles that were used to facilitate the drug trafficking offenses. This is an ongoing drug investigation which may lead to additional indictments.
