Oregon Man Charged with Sex Offenses

    On Wednesday, March 21, 2007 the Ottawa County Children’s Services received confidential call about a man exposing himself to young girls in the Curtice area. Children’s Services investigators immediately began an investigation of the matter and requested assistance from the Ottawa County Sheriffs Office.

    On Thursday, March 22, 2007 the Ottawa County Sheriffs Office received a report from a parent on Windacre Road in Curtice about the same man exposing himself and masturbating in front of young girls.

    The investigation continued by the Sheriffs Office and a Children’s Services investigator. Interviews with the victims were competed in the following days and on March 27^th charges were filed in the Ottawa County Municipal Court.

Charged:    Billy L. Hamilton, Sr., age 54

                  1917 Watts Avenue, Oregon, Ohio

                  Charges:     2 Counts of Sexual Imposition, misdemeanors of the first degree

                                    1 Count Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles, misdemeanor of the first degree

                                    2 Counts of Public Indecency, misdemeanors of the fourth degree

    It has been alleged that Mr. Hamilton has touched the genitals of a young girl and the breasts of another. He also directed a young girl to a sexually explicit website and on two occasions exposed himself and masturbated in front of young girls. There were three girls involved and they ranged in age from fourteen to seventeen years old. Mr. Hamilton had been staying part time with a girlfriend in the Curtice area. One of the victims was the girlfriends’ daughter; the other girls were friends of the daughter. These incidents occurred during the third or fourth week of February 2007.

    Mr. Hamilton is classified as a Sexually Oriented Offender registered with the Lucas County Sheriffs Office. He had been charged in 2005 with Gross Sexual Imposition, a felony, for sexual contact with a thirteen your old girl at Southwyck Lanes in Toledo. He later was found guilty of Sexual Imposition, a misdemeanor of the first degree and is currently on probation.

    Mr. Hamilton also has a charge of Complicity pending in the Ottawa County Municipal Court in connection with sending child pornography over the Internet in 2005.

    A date for Mr. Hamilton to appear in court on these recent charges has not yet been sent.
