Deputies Assist in Search at Baumgartner Home
On Wednesday, February 1, 2006, the Ottawa County Sheriffs Office was asked to assist the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office in the service of a search warrant at 9368 West State Route 163, Oak Harbor, Ohio, the Joseph and Elsebeth Baumgartner residence.
Deputies from the Sheriffs Office, agents from the Ottawa County Drug Task Force and an investigator from the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office went to the Baumgartner residence. There was no one home at the time. Deputies entered the house, and pursuant to the search warrant, seized three laptop computers, a desktop computer and many bottles of prescription medications that were not properly labeled.
The search lasted about two and a half hours. The computer equipment was taken back to Cuyahoga County for analysis. The Ottawa County Drug Task Force retained the bottles of medications so they may be analyzed. Prosecutor Mark Mulligan may consider charges in Ottawa County once that information is known.
For further information contact Cuyahoga County Assistant Prosecutor Dan Kasaris.
