Deputies Recognized for Locating Missing Girl

On Thursday, November 9, 2006, Patrol Deputy Jayson Hale and Communications Deputy Anya Alvarez were recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for their assistance in locating a missing child. Each received a framed certificate and a copy of the letter shown below.

The presentation was held during an annual Communications Training Seminar hosted each year by the Ottawa County Sheriffs Office and the Port Clinton Police Department. Approximately 60 dispatchers from around Ohio attended this years training. Topics focused on water rescue and enforcement, canine use, crime scenes, verbal communications skills and other areas as they relate to dispatchers and their duties. This year Diane Larson from WTVG-TV in Toledo spoke to the group about working with the news media. When her presentation was complete she read the letter recognizing Deputy Alvarez and Hale for their work in locating the missing girl.
