Thomas Johnson Sentenced for Rape and Kidnapping
On Friday, February 18, 2005 Thomas C. Johnson, age 23, of Port Clinton, was sentenced in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court after pleading to charges of RAPE and KIDNAPPING, both felonies of the first degree. The victim in the case was a three year old boy. The offenses occurred in February of 2004 in Bay Township.
Johnson was sentenced to ten years on each charge with both sentences ordered to be served consecutively. In addition Johnson was classified as a Sexually Oriented Offender. Once released from prison he will be required to annually register with the Sheriff of the county in which he lives and works for ten years.
This case was investigated by Ottawa County Sheriffs Detective Stephen Levorchick and Children's' Services Investigator Betsy Gordon. Assistant Prosecutor Lorraine Croy represented the Prosecutors Office at sentencing.
