GRAND JURY INDICTS DONALD M. WOODS FOR SEX CRIMES
The Ottawa County Grand Jury today returned a four count indictment against Donald M. Woods, 1764 South Dubbert Road, Port Clinton. The indictment alleges that Woods, 49, engaged in sexual activity with a minor between the ages of thirteen and sixteen last month at his home, and also showed the same victim pornographic material on his computer.
Woods is currently being held without bond in the Ottawa County Detention Facility on a parole violation. Woods was on parole for the November, 1974 murder of Gretchen Musser outside of Oak Harbor. Musser had caught Woods and three other men breaking into her business, Northland Bait and Sporting Goods. The four men took Musser from the business to a barn located on Camp Perry Western Road and shot her repeatedly. Woods was found guilty of Murder and sentenced to an indeterminate term of 15 years to life, and was released from prison and placed on parole in February, 2004.
Woods’ indictment charges two counts of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, both felonies of the third degree, one count of Disseminating Material Harmful to a Juvenile, a felony of the fifth degree, and one count of Sexual Imposition, a misdemeanor of the third degree.
Woods, who has been incarcerated since his arrest on July 25, 2005, is expected to make his initial appearance on the charges in the Ottawa County Court of Common Pleas earlier next week.
