DON MORTUS HONORED FOR 50 YEARS OF SERVICE TO OTTAWA COUNTY

On Sunday, April 17, 2005 Sheriff Bratton honored Don Mortus for his 50 years of service to the Fire and Emergency Medical Services of Ottawa County.

A ceremony, sponsored by St. Vincent's Life Flight, was held at the Port Clinton Airport. A earlier ceremony was held on Kelley's Island and then Don was flown in a Life Flight helicopter to Port Clinton. Waiting for him were approximately 25 fire and EMS vehicles, firemen and rescue workers, and family and friends from across the county.
